Civil rights leader and Representative John Lewis spoke these words to me. He also famously said, “If you get in trouble… it will be good trouble.” These statements have resonated with me and become a core tenet of my character, both personally and professionally. My tenure on the DuPage County Board has followed this idea: DuPage County needs problem solvers instead of problem creators, and citizens deserve governance that focuses on solutions rather than petty bickering. In my time on the DuPage County Board as Vice Chair, I have advocated for the needs of DuPage residents and will continue to do so when reelected.
My decision-making process for every Board vote takes into account these critical questions:

Does this represent American values?

Does this help middle-class families?

Does District One benefit from this?
If the answer to all three questions is Yes, I have no reason to vote any differently. My vote will never be for political sway or cronyism; if it strengthens my community, I will advocate for it.
